How to choose a hot water boiler?

2024-03-13
When purchasing a hot water boiler, it is necessary to consider developing an emergency backup plan in case of boiler failure. If your company has a high demand for boilers, we suggest that you purchase 2 boilers at once, one for use and one for backup.
Especially when using hot water boilers for heating, there should be no less than two. When one of the boilers stops operating for some reason, the design heat exchange of the other boilers should meet the owner's requirements to ensure heating. Pressure vessels and heat exchangers can also be prepared.
What size of hot water boiler to choose?
As is well known, when choosing a boiler tonnage, it should be based on the actual heat load of the company, but calculating the heat load and selecting a large boiler is not an easy task. This is because the efficiency of hot water boilers will decrease during low load operation. We suggest that the actual operating load thermal efficiency of hot water boilers should not be less than 50%.
For example, in hotels, heating is provided in winter and only sanitary hot water is needed in summer. If a hot water boiler is selected based on the total load, the working load of the hot water boiler will be very low and the efficiency will be reduced when only hot water bathing is provided in summer. Therefore, the heat load for each application should be calculated first, and then equal capacity selection should be made based on usage. The system saves investment, is simple, and has good mutual backup.
In addition to using steam as a heat source in the kitchen, laundry room, high-temperature disinfection, and winter air conditioning humidification, hot water boilers should also be used as heat sources for other heat loads.
Choose a steam boiler or a hot water boiler?
The traditional heating method uses a single steam boiler as the heat source, and then uses a plate to exchange the heat into hot water for use. Although it may seem convenient, the secondary heat exchange loses a lot of heat energy. Use hot water boilers for heating, sanitary hot water, process hot water, etc. to directly supply hot water, and use steam boilers where steam is needed. Unless a small amount of hot water is used, steam can be used for heat exchange. Diesel engine power generation and power plant engineering may also choose this type.
